Ground Penetrating Radar

Ground penetrating radar (GPR) is one of the most interesting newer technologies in investigative engineering. GPR uses various ground-coupled radar waves to evaulate subterrain conditions. The depth and resolution of the image is dependent on the frequency of the antenna.

In recent years, it has become increasingly common to use GPR technology on concrete investigation. GPR can be used to locate reinforcing steel at greater depths than many other technologies, and can detect sub-surface anomolies in concrete or the soil below the concrete.
